WHERE TO STAY IN BALI
Bali is definitely one of those magical places that everyone dreams of visiting at some point! I had the opportunity to visit Bali with my husband, my brother, and my cousin.
My husband and I stayed in Bali for 10 days! We were able to travel all over the island and stay at multiple places! So, this article is going to discuss where to stay in Bali. It will include, where to stay in Ubud, where to stay in Seminyak, where to stay in Canguu and much more!
Fun fact! My brother actually lived in Bali for 6 months, so although I have not done everything in Bali myself, I have a very close source who is able to give tons of guidance when it comes to my Bali articles!
All of these places listed below are definitely Instagram worthy!
1. WHERE TO STAY IN UBUD
If you ever visit Ubud, Indonesia then you must stay at this Airbnb. My husband, brother, cousin, and I all stayed at this place together and it couldn’t have been more perfect or more beautiful!
This place is located right on some rice fields which created for not only the most gorgeous views but also one of the most beautiful sunsets I have ever witnessed. This place has a pool on the property that is surrounded by lots of luscious greenery and flowers, which again created for a beautiful setting.
The house was made up of 3 large bedrooms and two large bathrooms and an outside rain shower. The kitchen was quite large and there were enough utensils provided to create an entire meal.
The accommodations that were offered through this place were incredible. They had entire spa package that you could purchase different massages or facials from for an in house treatment. If you wanted a chef to cook for you they provided that service as long you informed them ahead of time.
The home is located about 5 minutes from the heart of Ubud Village Center. It is located in a very quiet neighborhood that helps create a relaxing environment and get out of the hustle-bustle of Ubud. It can be reached by moped or car. This villa provides moped rentals as well when you arrive for a very reasonable price.
The staffing of this villa were incredible throughout our entire stay. They always made sure we had what we needed and they were great at communicating prior to our arrival as well. The house was very well kept and was cleaned daily.

My favorite part about this villa was the open downstairs. It was one large room that included the kitchen, living room and you could walk right on out to the pool (you also had the capability of pulling down a makeshift wall to prevent bugs or mosquito from coming in if needed).
I would highly recommend this place for your next stay in Ubud. Feel free to contact me with any further questions about this villa or if you would like me to put you in contact with the owner!
There are plenty of hotels and other accommodations in Ubud; like the four seasons resort, however, we chose to rent out an Airbnb because it was so much cheaper-practically free.
If you visit them make sure to mention @myexplorewithme sent you!
2. WHERE TO STAY IN SEMINYAK
What up brah? At least that is what the locals say not only in San Diego, but also in Bali, Indonesia.
Seminyak is much closer to the water and offers some great beaches for surfing and/or just relaxing. I highly recommend either grabbing your own airbnb to stay at or staying with Kima Surf!
Kima Surf is amazing because it offers everything for both introverts and extroverts. Not only is it a beautiful place to stay, but the accommodations are fantastic and the staff cares!
Whether you are a beginner surfer or an advanced surfer, or not even a surfer at all this hotel could be for you!
They have a little cafe that offers meals every day, they a beautiful pool you can relax, and at night they usually offer different activities. During the day time, they offer surfboard rentals and they even take you out on surf excursion if you want!
You can choose to partake in all of this or none of it! Kima Surf offers both one bedroom Villas as well as group teepee’s that you can stay in.
For full details of my experience at Kima Surf check out this post!
When staying in Seminyak, you will definitely be paying higher prices compared to Ubud because it is closer to the beaches and the main town.
Another popular place to stay while in Bali is the potato head beach club. This is a resort that has a swimming pool right on the water. This Seminyak hotel is quite popular too as they offer poolside parties every afternoon.
If you stay here make sure to mention that @myexplorewithme sent you!
3. WHERE TO STAY IN CANGGU
Canggu is located only about 15 minutes from Seminyak and Kuta-the two other large main cities in Bali, Indonesia.
There are quite a few beaches near Canggu including Batu Bolong Beach, Aston Canggu beach, and echo beach. You are going to want to visit all of these when staying in Canggu!
As far places to stay, you have a few options. First, I would recommend staying at Hotel Tugu. This resort is a Balinese soulful sanctuary. They are a beachfront property and their swimming pool is surrounded by luscious greenery.
You can check out the rates here.
The second place I would recommend staying at in Canggu is called The Chillhouse. This place is an Instagram heaven.
I wish I was “into” Instagram and photography back when I was in Bali, so that I could capture all of its beauty.
Just like at Kima Surf, the staff really goes above and beyond to make you feel comfortable and at home. The Chillhouse is a yoga and surf retreat kind of place. So, you can bet the vibes are chill.
They have plenty of options when it comes to choosing a room. Whether you want a private room or a big enough room with a kitchen for you and your family they have it all!
Yoga sessions and meals are included when you book your stay here! You can add on extra activities like massages if you would like to!

4. WHERE TO STAY ON NUSA LEMBONGAN
I did not actually have the chance to stay on Nusa Lembongan overnight, but my husband and I had the opportunity to do a day visit here. We ended up stopping for lunch at a small remote resort and from the looks of it, I would highly recommend staying here!
We were on our little rental moped heading to the Mahana Point Cliff jump when we came across a small hotel. We stopped here and ate some delicious burgers for lunch!
This place is called Twilight Lembongan and it is actually kind of confusing as this hotel is technically on Nusa Ceningan. After you cross the large yellow bridge, you will continue to head towards Mahana Point.
You will see signs for this resort off to the right and head down the dirt road. Twilight Lembongan offers some pretty epic and stunning views. The pools and beach views offer a very relaxing environment.
FINAL THOUGHTS FROM YOUR OUTDOOR LOVING SAN DIEGO GIRL
I hope this post helps you for when you plan your trip to Bali! Honestly, you can’t go wrong with whichever resort you choose to stay at. Almost every place is gorgeous, instagrammable and affordable.
Could you ask for a better combination?
