We Made It To Freaking Bali.
We made it! To freaking Bali! I couldn’t believe it. I was finally here-it had always been a dream of mine to visit this tropical oasis and the time had finally come!
It’s May of 2017 and the sun is shining bright in Bali. I am getting my tan on and about to enjoy the best week of my life. My brother (Josh) had decided to live in Bali for a few months and just take a break from “real life.” He is quite the surfer, so I am sure it was a dream of his to live in the land of a surfer’s paradise. Once I found out my brother would be living in Bali for a few months my heart began to race! Can you guess what I was thinking? This was the perfect opportunity to visit Bali! My adventurous spirit was all in! Say the word “travel” to me and I am all ears.
I convinced my boyfriend (Dan) to tag along with me to visit my brother as well as my cousin who was also living there. We traveled from San Francisco, CA all the way over to the Bali airport (Ngurah Rai) Denpasar, Indonesia. It was one of the longest flights I have ever been on. A whopping 23hrs!!! But, that’s OK because we are here and we are now on Bali time!
Being in Bali has been one of the coolest experiences. Since my brother has been living here for awhile now he knows all the ins and outs and the do and don’t of Bali culture. I feel like I have my own personal tour guide by having my brother by my side. He knows how to bargain with all the locals-heck he even knew some of the locals. He knows what adventures to take us on, which waterfalls to go to, what surf spots to check out, where to eat, where to party, where to sleep. He knows it all!
I am loving the warm weather and this relaxing lifestyle. It makes me miss my home land in San Diego, CA, but I am so appreciative of my time here and excited for all the adventures ahead of us this week!
Check out some of my other posts coming up about what to do in Bali! Also, keep an eye out for a guest post from my brother about life in Bali.
