Better than Napa? A True Hidden Gem: Tri-Valley, California

Discover the Tri-Valley area, also known as “the sunny side of the bay,” located just 35 miles east of San Francisco, where you can indulge in a range of fun activities. From tasting globally inspired cuisines to taking a road trip through the hillsides, the Tri-Valley area offers the perfect escape for a day trip or a weekend getaway from San Francisco.

The area straddles Alameda and Contra Costa counties and is home to cities such as Livermore, Pleasanton, Dublin, San Ramon, and the town of Danville. The best way to visit is by flying to either San Francisco (SFO) or Oakland and renting a car, as most of the places you will want to see require driving. Stay at one of the many great options in the Tri-Valley area, such as the AC Hotel, The Purple Orchid Wine Country Resort and Spa, Residences Inn by Marriott Pleasanton, Four Points by Sheraton, or Hyatt House Pleasanton.

From cute cafes to rolling hills to cultural experiences, Tri-Valley captures the essence of California. You can rent an e-bike, take a wine trolley ride, or hike one of the many state parks available, such as Brushy Peak Regional Preserve, Mt. Diablo State Park, or Del Valle Regional Park, to name a few. Don’t forget to check for trail closures before embarking on your adventure.

When it comes to food, Tri-Valley won’t disappoint. Sample globally inspired cuisines, and make sure to check out the area’s best restaurants, such as Sabio on Main, Beer Baron Bar & Kitchen, Eddie Papa’s American Hangout, and The Press.

Overall, Tri-Valley is an adorable town with lots to offer, no matter the season. Plan your visit today to enjoy everything the sunny side of the bay has to offer.
